Yarra Trams Acland Street Project

Balpara was engaged by Yarra Trams to provide electrical consultation on the Acland Street redevelopment project in St Kilda, a project that consisted of electrical distribution, AS3000 and public lighting design as well as the project management on behalf of Yarra Trams.

Scope

• Redesign and manufacturing of existing LV distribution cabinets; from circuit breakers to Webber fuse strips for all shop supplies
• Design of street lighting to AS3000 standard
• Feature lighting electrical supply for palm trees and plaza shelters
• VicRoads public lighting
• Cable tracing to all of the retail shops
• Load testing of existing cables
• Protection studies in conjunction with United Energy/ZNX
• Project Management of all the works

Balpara has been engaged to deliver a variety of services across multiple aspects of the Major Roads Projects Victoria (MRPV) roll out. Project Overview Major Road Projects Victoria is the organisation behind the North East Link , West Gate Tunnel , and Big Build Roads delivering dozens of essential freeway and road upgrades across the State. It is an ambitious project for Victoria that has been in progress for many years. MRPV’s commitment is to reduce traffic congestion in a State with a growing population, while making the roads that Victorians rely on every day safer for all users. Beyond the impact on Victoria’s transport network, MRPV is working to leave a legacy that benefits communities and provides sustainable employment and supply chain opportunities for some of Victoria’s most disadvantaged groups. Scope These projects are still underway and Balpara continues to work through the various project deliverables across our full suite of services. To date, we have provided the following services across multiple projects and stages: Public lighting design and Lux Level assessment AS3000 design Electrical asset relocation Electrical and communications design Overhead pole surveying and design Asset and feature surveying Detailing and auditing Soil testing and geotechnical services Cable tracing and GPR locating Engineering design and project management (including PM2 recognised services) Value Add Balpara’s specialised and unique experience in the Victorian electrical sector enables the delivery of a broad range of services . Balpara was engaged by Latrobe City Council to undertake surveying and design services for path lighting at Burrage Reserve, Newborough.
